+1 at our small private. However, DS's same-age cousin, who goes to a well-regarded public school, is obsessed with guns and physical games that involve pretend shooting, ninja chopping, etc. According to his mother, this is very typical recess behavior for the boys in his grade. If true, it suggests that this type of thing is very school dependent.


+1 mawkish kids on the apron strings of extremely attentive women at school at home don't engage in energetic masculine pretend play.

Keep your kids the HELL off of Roblox. It is filled with creeps trying to chat with little boys.
Fortnite I don't know anything about safety-wise, but other moms tell me their kids quickly acted like drug fiends and they ended up taking it away.
I don't care about gun play, my kids have nerf guns and I just ignore it.
Minecraft, Mario, etc. are fine.
