I agree with what you’re saying, but when we have all these labels for people…Chinese-American, Japanese-American, Asian-American, African-American etc. this is what happens. Do we want to celebrate ethnicity or don’t we? Are we all Americans, or are we XYZ-Americans? When you add the xyz, you’re othering yourself and creating unecessary labels and differences.

I’m aware that we let all types of foreigners come into this country because we are welcoming, some we didn’t even let in but they broke our laws and came anyway. Well aware. So sure, you get to say that.
