Does your principal ask for donations to the school?

Blair used to do this. It raised a lot of money that admin needed resources for in order to make up for funds that dried up from the school district. However, it competed with the PTSA and programs that the PTSA used to fund for the school could no longer be funded.

Blair? You mean money for lunches, dinner and travel.

I hope that isn't what the money went to.

Wood MS did this last year as the school took over a back to school fundraiser the PTA normally held and was very vague about what the funds were to be used for. Seemed to undermine the PTA efforts but I’m not sure how the decision was made for the school to take it over. It all seemed very weird (and frustrating as our taxes had just gone up to “help the schools” yet here they were asking for more without stating why they weren’t getting enough from CO)

Same crew. It’s probably the new assistant principal. They did that to us too in past years.

My student is at Wheaton and haven’t seen a principal driven fundraiser. When did this happen? I may have missed it.

If they have no president or no one in the PTSA is doing anything that makes sense but others schools have a strong PTSA/PTA and folks who will help.

Wheaton’s PTSA President has stayed on temporarily. She’s terrific and the PTSA is effective.

I’mm not aware of the principal asking for monetary donations.
