Pants that are not tights or jeans and comfy but presentable

Madewell wide leg Emmett corduroy pants are comfortable. Am hoping they sell better colors in the spring. https://www.madewell.com/p/womens/clothing/pants/corduroy-pants/the-emmett-wide-leg-pant-in-corduroy-welt-pocket-edition/NS291/?ccode=BR0129

Another vote for everlane dream pants.

OP, what about skirted leggings? They feel like leggings, stretchy and so comfortable, but they have a built-in skirt (not too short either). It’s the easiest item in the world. I wore these through my 40s.

You can often find them on poshmark too.

I'm wondering how the average woman wears most of these pants. I'm 5'4" and 140 lbs. Not super fit. I can't wear these wide pants without adding at least 10 lbs to my look.

I'm so frustrated with barrel jeans and these other baggy fit pants.

When I wear a sweater and bistretch pants like these (https://www.gap.com/browse/product.do?pid=4551310120201&vid=1#pdp-page-content) I always feel like I'm wearing work appropriate PJs.

I'm 5'0" and on the thin side, but my weight is in my hips and thighs and my legs are proportionately short. Anything but straight legged pants (or a tiny boot) and I look absurd. Jeggings/skinny jeans make me look like a triangle and wide leg made me look so stumpy.

Well... it's a step above underpants...

I think these look much nicer than some of the cropped granny pants others posted.

High rise wide leg corduroys or khakis from the Gap. The "high stride" ones. The cords are especially good for winter.

They have these in denim as well but I don't like how it looks as much. I think it's the drape of a softer fabric that helps them look better -- in the denim I look stumpy because the fabric is more rigid and makes my legs look like tree trunks.

How often do you wash those - and how do you wash them?

Thanks for this — I have high rise strides in denim (dark blue wash and faded black), and they are the only pants I ever want to wear, as they’re unusually comfortable for jeans — and fwiw I too have the mom belly. Didn’t even realize that cords were an option. (Wish the cords didn’t have back pockets but otherwise these seem great).

FYI to anyone curious, the length on the denim for these pants is long. I’m 5’9” and the talls were too long. I have regular length and I just keep them out of the dryer.

Depends on the pair and instructions, but either dry clean or hand wash or delicate cycle. I wash as needed, a few times a winter depending on how often they are worn and if outside of the house.
