A complicated request! I am late 30s and work from home. I do pickup for kids (with some very stylish and fit parents sigh) and go to school events. I have jeans and they are so uncomfortable and I have tights but it feels underdressed for pickup. Any other options? And i live in a cold climate so no cute cropped work slacks I have those. I just hate changing în and out and feel silly so I’d rather get some comfortable pants that are presentable. And oh yeah I’m also overweight and pear shaped. Any places I should look?

I just got these from Talbots recently. They come in a range of sizes and standard fit or curvy fit (which suits pears). I am really happy with the fit and fabric, which is 93% cotton.

Old navy and gap have commuter pants, cargo pants, stretch tech pants that are comfortable and presentable for a casual look.

| Athleta has great options and they are all so comfortable. Betabrand as well. |

I think you could get more comfortable jeans. I find the cheaper ones (like Macys brands) have the right amount of stretch. I also like the Talbots jeans (high waist curvy fit is what fits me best, those are harder to find now).
Lately I have been wearing my straight-leg athletic pants to pickup - they are black knit, but not tight like yoga pants. But I would not wear them to school events. Would you like cords? |
Betabrand is what she's looking for, but IMO they don't fit pears well. |
| Cashmere Joggers! Bloomingdales brand is on sale right now for like $100. Chic & comfy and definitely warm. |
| Black yoga pants. Very comfortable and from a distance you can't tell that they're athleisue. |
| I just got these and really like them. They are comfortable. New location in Penn quarter. https://shop.mango.com/us/en/p/women/jeans/wideleg/catherin-culotte-corduroy-pants_77027117?c=05 |
If you're not skinny these just look like sweatpants, i.e. sloppy. My mom has some flared leggings that look pretty nice. I ordered some secondhand Athleta and Betabrand ones to try but seems my package has been lost. Sigh. For now, I'm wearing a lot of tights and comfortable dresses. Just not into jeans lately. |
Agree with Athleta. Maybe something like this? https://athleta.gap.com/browse/product.do?pid=472041012&cid=1059471&pcid=1059471&vid=1&nav=hamnav%3ABottoms%3ACATEGORIES%3APants&cpos=38&cexp=3064&kcid=CategoryIDs%3D1059471&cvar=27654&ctype=Listing&cpid=res24112118535955131303498#pdp-page-content |

I love cashmere pants with comfortable waistbands with wider legs, they can look fashionable depending on the brand.

| High Hopes black pants from AYR are fantastic. They feel like sweatpants but are polished looking enough for work, dinner, etc. |

Ponte pants. Vince Camuto used to make a great pair I wore all the time for teaching but I think they've been discontinued. Try some of the other brands

| How are jeans uncomfortable? Go up a size if you need to. |
