Np- yeah … no. That’s not funny either. It’s not even interesting. I thought maybe some of these would get a rise out of me? But not even that. It just sort of falls flat.
But writing comedy isn’t easy, and I think trying to force a conservative bent makes it feel… forced.

I agree with PP that the Onion is not as good as it used to be. I am remembering the dead pan Onion of many years ago but was hopeful of they bought info wars it would be deadpan again.

Also agree with some PPs that we on the left probably take ourselves too seriously.

It’s either funny or it isn’t. I’m not saying “woke” scolding people leads to hilarious writing, and I haven’t read the onion in years, so no clue about the quality of writing. But the Babylon Bee sucks donkey ballz.
People are pissed because good comedy is getting harder to come by. Have you guys ever watched Brooklyn 99?
I loved that show and it was genuinely funny… until George Floyd… Then the show felt it had to apologize for all of policing. The writers really wrote themselves into a pickle.
This timeline sucks.

Yes we loved. Brooklyn 99! The characters were so relatable yet exaggerated in the best possible ways: It was truly hilarious.

Also loved Andy Samberg’s movie Palm Springs

Neither the Onion or the Babylon Bee are funny. The Onion at least used to be funny, many years ago, but hasn’t cracked a joke in many years. The Babylon Bee has never been funny.

It is depressing.
