BSC would be a great fit in GA |
who care about the girls when u can get mlsnext…. Looks at nova teams |

People are so dumb. There are at least 20+ Clubs that have MLS Next and ECNL…
Bethesda had two playoff teams last year and likely three this year. One of those teams made National ECNL Semis and Quarterfinals in back to back years. But, haters are going to hate. That’s never going to stop. Some haters are just dumber than others. |
2 champions league teams isn’t something to brag about considering the resources at BSC’s disposal. |
| Bethesda is a great club. |
What makes Bethesda a good club other than 1) being members of ECNL and MLS next, and 2) being geographically located in an area densely populated with affluent families? |
| That tournament has been a dumpster for for 25 years. |
They have a much wider reach than the Virginia side as far as rival clubs. No idea why no one is actively competing against them. Your kid is one of 500 kids in their she getting at Bethesda and if you aren't paying extra on the side your kid will go no where team wise. |
I'm finally done with this pathetic tournament. |
Honestly, nothing. It's a great point. The best analogy I can think of is that Bethesda has become very similar to ODP. A legacy brand that used to be very strong in it's heyday, but time, shifts in the soccer infrastructure in the US, complete arrogance, and lack of focus on real soccer development, has cheapened the brand and made its name much less valuable than it used to be. Bethesda used to be a decent program back in the 90s and early 2000s. Now it is purely a business and a business that is focused on two things, taking money out of your pocket and putting into theirs and slowing the deterioration of the product and the brand. Because of this, what you'll see very quickly is that the club has become easily manipulated by rich parents in the market they serve because they see the club's vulnerability (i.e. focus on money only) as opportunity especially when it comes to college entrance. But the club has a very real problem on their hands and that is the actual product. They forgot about this and thought the machine would just keep running without maintenance. If colleges start realizing the brand doesn't put out quality players like it used to, which is already happening, then the club will have very little value in the market, especially to those deep pocketed parents who are looking for every edge to get their kid into their college of choice. They will just ship their money to some other brand that will help them achieve their goals. With money, it is that simple. This will take some time but if you're paying attention, you will see that time is ticking very quickly for Bethesda and if they don't right the ship soon, it will absolutely run out. Just like it did for other clubs in the past. |
Because they have market entrenchment that isn't easily disrupted without money. They protect this with everything they have. It also takes a sizable investment to move the needle competitively. If you brought some investor into this market and presented the business case for the scale of the opportunity given the market conditions and the target demographic, I think the business case is pretty attractive. All you would need is a quality facility in MoCo that could support all the teams Bethesda has and you'd literally be the market leader over night. But you need money and vision to make this happen. |
| Our club has decided to boycott future BSC tournaments after recent experience |
