Massage therapists are not qualified to diagnose medical issues. How did they decide it was a "nerve issue?" What nerve issue? |
Not PP but I'm guessing the massage therapist and PT spent way more time asking questions and listening than a doctor does and had probably seen something similar with other clients. |

OP, I had foot tingling so bad it prevented me from slowing. For me, counterstrain fixed the problem in four visits. In the fourth visit, I could literally feel the blood gurgling back into the constricted vein. I can’t guarantee that this would be a fix for you, because we don’t know the cause of your pain. Worth a visit, though. Here’s the guy I saw: https://tuckeypt.com/
Yes, it’s very expensive, but they won’t keep seeing you if they don’t think there’s a chance they can help you. The clinic is very, very busy. They’re often the solution for mystery ailments. |

Interesting. So was the issue vascular for you? Blood not flowing to your feet? I'll check that out. Thank you! |
I wrote that post. Diagnose is a sloppy word to have used and maybe should have said "led to uncovering the problem". They solved it because of exactly what was posted above - they spent way more time and were hands on. The massage therapist said "this area is tight and you should see someone about this". And what the nerve issue was is not your business. FWIW I'm married to a doctor in one of these specialities. Was sent for MRIs and EMGs and it was ultimately PT that helped LOL Hope you can find some answers, OP. |

There are SO many things it could be, ranging from diabetes to a B12 deficiency to Lyme disease, to MS…. and many other things.
You need an excellent PCP to work you up. A neurologist may also be needed. Don’t try to figure this out in your own. Good luck. |
I recently had that test. It was not at all excruciating . Stop scaring people. |
Different people have different levels of pain tolerance. I had it done (OP). I jumped a few times. It was kinda painful. But I also find dry needling really painful. |
| Are you a drinker by any chance? No judgement as I’m in the same boat and reducing my alcohol intake has helped some. |
| I get tingling in my foot (top outside) from a vascular issue (long story, but from an injury). It feels the same as sciatica, which I have had too. The vascular tingling goes away if I wear a compression sock. Might be worth a try. |
How painful it is depends a ton on what area you are having tested. |
