I have been having tingling in my feet for years. I've seen a neurologist, podiatrist, neurosurgeon, and of course primary.
I had an MRI already, and there was no disc bulge, and nothing out of the ordinary that could be causing the tingling. It gets worse when I sit or stand too long. I'm thinking of seeing an orthopedist for this since none of the other doctors seem to be able to find anything. Please recommend your orthopedist around Rockville who specializes in spine issues. TIA. |
| have your blood sugar checked |
| Also consider a neurologist |
|
The first thing that comes to mind is diabetes, but I'm sure you got that checked out.
It could also be an auto-immune issue. Have you had bloodwork for markers of inflammation and autoimmunity? |
| Have you had your b12 checked? That's what caused it for me. |
| Low iron and thyroid disease caused mine |
|
Op here. I get a blood workup every year. Just had one last week. All normal. I've been to a neurologist already.
Would an orthopedist not help at all? |
| do you sit in a chair that pinches the back of your legs all day? do your feet not touch the ground when you sit in a chair all day? both of these scenarios can contribute to trouble. |
| Is this some sort of vascular insufficiency issue? |
I was thinking the same thing. You might need to see a vascular surgeon. |
Yes, but for those specific things? Thyroid, vitamins, etc, are not included in a mere CBC. |
No an orthopedist cannot help and would wonder why you are there. |
I was coming to say the same thing. I have annual bloodwork, but when we were trying to find the cause of my poor bone density, THEN they added thyroid, celiac, vitamin D, etc. I assume they did a fasting blood sugar and that was normal? |
| An orthopedist likely won't be able to help. This sounds like it could be a vascular issue. |
| Endocrinologist? My kid had tingling in his feet- cause was low calcium and very low Vitamin D. Other vitamin deficiencies can also cause tingling. |
