| Got one years ago, I’m not sure it really helped me get laid more often, although I don’t advertise it. Except now. So call me ladies… |
You have no idea the physical toll three vasectomies take!! |
I am extremely pro choice, without restriction on abortion whatsoever. But totally separately, I hate idiots. The failure rate for the pill is not 92 percent. That’s the success rate. Moreover, in your scenario, you had an obvious failure where you stopped taking the pill for two days. And apparently you had sex during that time and didn’t immediately get the morning after pill when you realized - because otherwise you wouldn’t have ended up with an unplanned pregnancy. I’d say you’re not super responsible with birth control over all. So you’re a good candidate for condoms. Don’t have sex if you forgot the pill for two days. If you take the pill as instructed, it generally works without pregnancy. If you’re unlikely to remember to take the pill daily, use backup. In 15 years of being on the pill, I only forgot to take it for one two-day period and I instantly realized and went to PP and took the morning after pill. |
| I had a vasectomy a few years ago. Several women have asked whether I had one. Some have been more enthusiastic when they heard I had one but one basically ended a potential relationship immediately. |
She realized you weren't her future baby daddy. Good on ya both. |
A vasectomy is considered non-reversible. You have to sign a paper saying you understand that before you get one. The micro-vascular surgery required to reverse it is complicated but, even if they successfully re-attach the vas, a man can still be infertile. When a man has a vasectomy, the billions of sperm are absorbed by his body and sometimes, the immune system will attack them. This can also happen to a man who hasn't had a vasectomy and be a cause of infertility. So even if the the attachment goes well, he may still be infertile. No one should ever count on a vasectomy being reversible. I wish it was that simple. If only they could install a simple valve in teenage boys that would not be opened until he is ready to have children, then closed again. |
You are good with abortions at 32 weeks for no reason other than changed mind? |
You can buy a test online for $50 and mail in your sample. The lab will analyze it and send you the results you can download from their website that shows no presence of sperm. It's very easy. |
And this is what will happen. You will probably find more women who want a short term (or long term) sex only relationship, but not anyone who wants to have kids. |
Troll Dumb |
| No way. Spread the seed! |
+1. Forgetting to take the pill for 2 days is not a failure of the pill, its user error which is not the same thing. I was only the pill for 6 straight years and never got pregnant. If I ever forgot a pill or needed to take antibiotics we used condoms. I'm shocked how many antibiotics babies I've met - how do women not know this???? |
Yes - I am good with no legal restrictions, so a woman and her doctor can decide. Also, women don't get abortions at 32 weeks for no reason other than changed mind. This is just lies. Even in states without abortion restrictions, there are few providers who do late term abortions. Those that do provide these abortions do not provide them for shits and giggles. They provide them as a medically needed service. Your "hypothetical" is a red herring. We shouldn't enact laws based around hypotheticals that don't happen in practice. We don't enact other laws like this (ie based on hypoethicals that aren't a risk in practice) so shouldn't do that here either. |
It was coerced. I said I didn’t want to get pregnant multiple times. I was also ill and on medication and he knew exactly what he was doing, which was trying to get me pregnant against my will and it worked. I was married. The point is that even two days can make somebody pregnant when they don’t want to be pregnant and the pill is not 100% effective nor is any other method. |
Ever since my vasectomy, I stopped going to the gym...said no one ever. |
