For all the anti college football geeks...

Football was 100% not a priority when I picked a college in ye olden days. I was an engineering major coming from a HS with no football team in the NE, so it super wasn't on my radar.

But. I happened to pick a school in the south with a D1 football team. My college experience did not resolve around football, but going to games was super fun. It doesn't have to be a religion and it really take any time away from studies to watch a home game in person six times in the fall semester.

Originally, I thought your post was directed to "anti-college football geeks" rather than "anti-college-football geeks."

It's a shame you are so insecure that you felt you needed to create an aggro thread on a subject so frivolous.

Signed, a college-football-loving English major

PS: Go Dawgs.

LOL, we found the geek. "English major."

The mutts are coming into "The Eyes of Texas"... Hook 'Em, Horns!

Terrible showing for College Game Day UT!

Big Noon Kickoff was so much better at IU. John Mellencamp and Joey Chestnut!

Roll Tide!

Vanderbilt sends their regards

The college rankings sends their regards... 😜

Vandy is 26 today. By tomorrow, they should be ranked in the top 25.

And that is the sports story of the decade. Texas is trembling.

I mean, Mellencamp and Joey C? How can anybody say College Football doesn't matter? It's 4 hours on a Saturday for a reason. There are 6 other days a week in the fall to grind.

I agree, but there's a million other was to take time away from studies...including just playing the sport. At DC's college, you can check out a football, tennis racket, hell you can play golf on the college's dime or hike rather than attending a game. People take time away in more than one ways-you included I'm sure.

Neither does violin, or piano, or chess, or fencing, or crew, or squash, or ballet, or fraternities/sororities, or ultimate frisbee, any number of other extracurriculars. That’s why are called extracurricular. Yet I would not want to attend a college that didn’t have vibrant extracurriculars. No one is saying you have got enjoy football, but that’s your value judgment; it isn’t fact.

OP's obsession with college sports is strange and signifies someone whose life has to be compensated for its awful state by praising his college days. I hate seeing this behavior in adults

Really? I get it you really hate college football but c'mon... College students can multi-task. 🙄

Wow, this is probably one of the weirdest responses I've ever seen here... that's saying something.

No one said they couldn’t. Just emphasizing that lacking college football- especially if you don’t care about it doesn’t mean you have nothing to do or don’t have just as exciting things going on campus. I personally find college football extremely boring and I’ve been to many Texas OU games with family
