OP asked about ECONOMY on United.

OP take your own blanket. Even if you get one it’s useless

+1. I always bring my own blanket/wrap on long flights regardless.

Every United transatlantic flight I’ve ever been on offered blankets in economy. When I’m not going to use them—and I never use the pillow—I put them into the overhead bins.

I'm a pp that said I never use them and end up putting them on the floor.
I never thought of that. It seems every flight I'm on they are constantly stressing how full the overhead bins are and I never wanted to take more than my share (and I typically do have a bag up there, though nothing else like a jacket or anything.)

+1. How many blankets you got while flying business on Emirates has zero bearing on this discussion.

Hard agree. Also, OP is coming from Paris. I’m sure Emirates and Qatar biz class is great, but do you think anybody wants to fly from Paris, all the way to Dubai or Doha, change planes and then take a 12+ hour flight to DC? I think the nonstop from Paris to DC is preferred.

I have this and I think it takes up a lot more backpack space than my travel fleece blanket does.

If anyone has any other useful tips to share, lmk. I’m going for a week-long trip!

If you’re in economy, your drug cocktail is the most important part.

I’ve tried this and still can’t sleep on a plane. Economy is just way too uncomfortable for me.

Yeah, but how else can they flex that they prefer biz class on Emirates?

Bad flex because (shhhh don’t tell anyone) but Emirates business is actually pretty terrible.

Not that I would know, but I think Emirates first class, is where they roll out the red carpet.

First class on Emirates is miles above business class on Emirates. Don't fly Emirates business class.
