Honestly you can make box cupcakes and slap some ganache on them and everyone will be happy. The trick is to garnish with a fun cookie or candy—an Oreo, a strawberry, gummy eyeballs, etc. even the canned icing is fine.

I'd order fancy pastries from one of the French pastry shops in Georgetown, or Un Je Ne Sais Quoi in Dupont.

Nope. Giant cupcakes are trash compared to those from a place like Baked and Wired.

Baked and wired still has the best cupcakes but agree w all prior posters - nothing bundt cakes are exceptionally delicious
