What happens at a hoco after party?

Some of these "cool" parents have hidden cameras recording in the rooms where they expect a few teens will hook up.

They are freshman. It should be fine.

I absolutely not rely on the fact they are freshman. I was pretty shocked at how quickly things turned when my kid was a freshman. Even with parents home and supervising, kids are bold!

This. I have been in mansions before, but never in one with a basement that big. Plus usually people that wealthy don’t post those types of details. If OP was so wild as a teen, pretty sure op knows not to leave alcohol around.

Wealth tax can't come soon enough.

I would tell him it’s ok to have his group come over but no party. Otherwise there could be a ton of kids and it will smell of weed and alcohol inside and out. A few strays who want to play video games or eat pizza are fine.

We don’t normally go downstairs to the basement with our adult guests. It seems odd that you don’t believe there are houses with large basements.

There have been some epic nerf and laser tag wars down there over the years.

I haven’t mentioned the after party again. Boys have plans to go to dinner and then go to the dance. That is the plan for now.

My friends with daughters seem much more involved. My son won’t even try on his suit to see if it fits.

Except OP may be house poor.

I also think troll. There was no need to include the size of the basement and certainly not the size of the house.

Just say you have a big house that could accommodate dozens of people hanging out. We all know these houses exist.

Put out a bowl of edibles and condoms (but not edible condoms — defeats the purpose of the condoms.)

Lock up the alcohol but just know that they will bring their own. Maybe not you kid and his 5 best friends but someone will bring the alcohol guaranteed! So you need to be worried about people drinking and driving.

A few years ago, I posted about a birthday party. I didn’t initially include the sf and then said our house was over 10,000sf. I rounded down and the whole post got derailed because of the size of our house. I think I also posted something about a backyard party and no one responded to my outdoor party question.

^ This is the way. Your kid will have leverage on all the cool kids at school.
He will rule the roost.

There's no way you were a party girl if you have to ask what happens at a house party.
