Unexplained American death in Colombia

victims are compliant, so normal security precautions like password managers or 2 factor authentication are ineffective.

The victims tend to go along with anything that is suggested to them. So the victim will login to their Google accounts and even unlock their phone for the criminal. So 2 factor authentication and any type of password manager won't save the day.
I guess you could just keep your fidelity or vanguard password written down on a piece of paper at home. And then have a separate Schwab account with a memorized password that has a few thousand bucks in it for your vacation.
A lot of these guys are really reckless though. Many have banking and crypto apps on their phones that are easy to access. They are also hanging out with a lot of sketchy women and showing off their jewelry and fancy iPhone.

Americans are all considered to be wealthy in these countries and are easy marks.

Complete bullshit

It’s still a weird story. He died of a pulmonary embolism, which could have been due to a long flight. But can also be due to drug use.
The weird part of the story is who took his phone, iPad, wallet? Why were there women’s clothing in his suitcase when it was sent back?
I wouldn’t be satisfied if I were the mom either.

The men who travel to Colombia for sex tourism are playing with fire.

I go down to visit family and if you stay away from the tourist trap party zones, it is quite enjoyable.

If we decrease the US State Department staff, the service for Americans will get even worse.
