Undocumented? Refusing to show ID

But when I asked her for a proof of name, proof of address so that I know who the kids are with, she refused to share this.

I am assuming that she's won't show ID because undocumented, not because she's a child abductor. But - since it is common for folks to hire such workers, how do you trust your kids to go with someone without REALLY knowing their name, address, etc? Is that common practice?

(And no, we won't be hiring her. Taking the rest to care.com, where background checks already done).

If she refuses then you tell her goodbye. Why do I you need to get opinions on this?

You let someone who seems nice be in your house alone with your children and all your stuff for hours? And you have no way of finding them after they leave?

The only randoms I ever left in the house alone was Williams Professional Painters and they have insurance and bond their employees.

If a neighbor recommends who cares. We never ask ID

You know beyond the shadow of a doubt that she is undocumented and you know that you will not hire her, so what was your purpose in posting?

You're anonymous OP

And very judgemental.

Anybody can refuse to show ID and not like you.

I see why.

If you don't like it then " Move on " to other websites.

OP agreed to the rate and start date. Sounds like they had an agreement .Seems reasonable to ask for ID

Agree, it's reasonable to ask for ID. Seems fishy.. she has something to hide from IRS or ICE.

My late aunt with a cognitive disability and hearing aids that could only restore 25% of her hearing worked for many years as a nanny for people who couldn't afford anyone else!!!

She must be recently arrived, or very afraid of being deported, or in between addresses. Many more established immigrants who have overstayed their visa or who are here illegally have a state ID and proof of address.

I’m genuinely curious how do you get a license if you are here illegally? Virginia is very strict. Does be your just go to Maryland.
