Undocumented? Refusing to show ID

Lol maybe she doesn't like you OP

I never had problems with undocumented people.
My neighbors gave very good references. I guess I don't need to know where she lives.

It's just a babysitting job...

If it was s nanny then we do a contract, background check with police, sign contract. Easy

Do you know where all your babysitters lives??😂

But when I asked her for a proof of name, proof of address so that I know who the kids are with, she refused to share this.

I am assuming that she's won't show ID because undocumented, not because she's a child abductor. But - since it is common for folks to hire such workers, how do you trust your kids to go with someone without REALLY knowing their name, address, etc? Is that common practice?

(And no, we won't be hiring her. Taking the rest to care.com, where background checks already done).

I think she doesn't like you lol

OP

Your very own neighbor could have kidnapped people in the basement

You never know

We either hire through an app or we use someone recommended by a friend. I've never asked for an ID.

A lot of these babysitters and nannies helps the community, helps moms, dads, families

Many families has nanny share with another family and that's fine. Never judge other families.
Even the expensive nannies can be abusers too. Even centers with cameras do abuse, don't care.

The nanny is happy, the kids are happy and thriving and the families are happy.

Those nannies helps the communities

You're anonymous OP

And very judgemental.

Anybody can refuse to show ID and not like you.

I see why.

If you don't like it then " Move on " to other websites.

Doesn't a background check use address? Or at least proof of ID?

Ya'll would leave your children with someone random?

The IRS has stiff penalties for those paying cash for jobs under the table.

You're supposed to fill out employment paperwork by law unless you're under the table, so showing an ID is not optional. Guarantee she's in the country without a valid work visa, i.e. an au pair who overstayed, or otherwise.

(Half joking) that she works for the mafia and pretends to be a nanny to get access to people's homes, or is it more likely that she's just insists on anonymous/under the table work? And people actually let total strangers care for their children?

It's probably something less sexy, like she has a DUI
