Super fun to drive, but holy hell, the cost of maintainance.

The above poster probably recommends Citrôen😀

Our S4 has been the best car we’ve ever had. Much better than the 3-series before it.

Disagree. They’re not poorly engineered, they’re OVERengineered.

Yes. Unnecessarily complex. More stuff to break.

My ex had his friend crash his audi A5 to get rid do it. I just put on new tires. Yes, that how stupid he is.
Lots of electrical problems nobody could fix.

My family member has the 2024 Q7 and it’s always having electrical issues. Alerts coming on indicating issues but when they take it in, there’s actually no issue they just need to reset the alert. Also the safety sensors detecting cars/objects that are nonexistent.

I had an Audi for 10 years. Great to drive and really enjoyable to be in. Insurance didn’t seem higher than other vehicles - less than 1k/year.

Maintenance wasn’t terrible. Don’t go to the dealer (but you know that anyway). I was unhappy about a couple of things that broke - the engine needed a $1500 repair around the 5 year mark, and the sunroof stopped working around the same time (never bothered to fix it because we didn’t use it). I don’t think either of those should go within the first decade. But then again, it could happen with any manufacturer these days.

Audi owner here. 2018 Q7. Agreed re cost of repairs…

Has anyone else run into a sensor throwing off a message that the left front side marker light is defective (even though it seems to work just fine)? Somehow this is a $7K issue. Can’t even turn off the alert (which is hugely distracting) for less. Apparently the whole headlamp assembly needs to be replaced, and it is $7K.

OP, let us know how it is working out!

Wow, that seems so high just to turn off an alert. I would do some independent research on YouTube, Audi forums, Reddit, etc., to see if there's a cheaper fix that you can possibly do yourself.

I'm a member of an Audi research panel.
Don't own one and let me tell you -- those who do own have nothing but issues..

Proceed with caution.

Horrible cars.. so many repairs. All extremely expensive. So much expensive gas. Switched to an EV and haven't looked back

Japanese every single time. So much more reliable.

I’ve always wanted an Audi but was worried about repair costs and reliability. I’ve stuck with Infiniti for my last five cars, no regrets at all. They and Nissan are in a weird place now though and they seem to be focusing on oversized SUV junk. I wonder if anything will come from this Honda-Nissan merger talk.

It is fine - nothing to get excited about.
I have had several bmws; including an m5 6 speed back in the day.
A q7 is not that experience.

It is our family car for moving kids around and we use it to the beach with our large dog that it is not ideal for.

I would say it is a step up
From our Acura Rdx for luxury. The Acura has had more issues than the Audi.

Do you use the 3rd row in the Q7?

Yes - when the kids were younger all the time.
Now they are teens and our carpool days are behind us for the most part.
I probably will get rid of it next year because as the kids are bigger, dog is big; the car is not big enough for family trips with luggage and dog.

The thing that I never liked about the car is it does not have a spare tire. Uses run flats and that always made me nervous for family trips. I would not buy another car without a spare tire. I am weird I guess.

no your not weird....idiots put in run flats on luxury cars and when you get a flat on a family trip...you are going to cry. BTDT. We just purchased a 2023 lexus gX - full spare tire.

"Brand"? Why such a hush-hush secret squirrel on an anon internet forum, boo?
