She could squeeze out 4 kids if she starts now and does every 2 years. 35, 37, 39, 41. |
I think Michelle’s last successful pregnancy was when she was 43?
I just don’t get the feeling that she wants a ton of kids if she waited so long to get engaged. |
I can't imagine how burnt out on kids you would be having spent the last 25 years raising 10+ of them as a de-facto mom. I doubt she wants a bunch regardless age. Maybe 2. |
She is marrying another cult member right? So hardly paving her own way here. |
+1. The wedding pics looked surprisingly normal. Of course, having the groom's family cook dinner for 500 guests is not normal, nor is the size of the two families. But I hope she's happy and gets to do what she wants! |
Josie was born when Michelle was 43. She was born at about 26 weeks weighing 1 lb 6 oz and had health issues. It’s risky to have a baby at that age. |
I wonder this too. The people article tone seemed to be “we’d already met and weren’t in to each other but now we’re both north of 30 so let’s just be done.” |
I think they look really good. I hope this is her happy ending. I always felt sorry for her especially since she didn’t follow the normal narrative of get married at 19 and have tons of babies. |
They’re Mennonite. |
She looks nice and the wedding looked so NORMAL. Not fundie at all. I bet they have 2 kids and are done.
They have known each other for quite some time and his sister is married to one of the other Duggar sons. There’s speculation that maybe they were dating and thinking about the next step around the time Josh was arrested and around the time of the trial and that Jana or both of them mutually decided to put the relationship on the back burner temporarily so Jana could help out with Josh’s kids. I also feel like Jana was very careful in who she ended up with and when. It really seemed like she didn’t want to go from raising all her siblings to starting a huge family at 21 with a guy she barely knew. It’s interesting that of the older girls, only Jessa seems to be interested in the big family with all the kids close together in age. Jana just got married, Jill has 3 kids, and Jinger has 2. |
I still think she is and this is a marriage of convenience for them both. These types of marriages are very common in UT with the LDS. I have a family member in such a marriage. He is gay but has never come out to his extremely religious and conservative parents. He came out to me and a few other trusted family members. He married a lesbian and they live together. They have biological kids but not through intercourse. Their life partners live in their neighborhood and are also married. They too have kids. It's been easy so far because the kids are younger and simply know the other adults as "Miss Jenny and Mr Tim" but eventually they'll start to put two-and-two together that it's not normal for adult women or adult men to have sleepovers with their friends. |
Wow all those bare shoulders - and a plunging neckline on the bride!
Glad to see they’ll be living in Nebraska after the wedding. |
![]() ^ photo from the people magazine exclusive It’s surprising to see her unmarried sister in a sleeveless dress too. |
Her dress reminds me of Princess Aurora from Sleeping Beauty. |
Yep - one of those "if we don't find other people by a certain age, we'll just marry each other". Good luck to them. |
