What kind of nonsense is this? No, your period doesn’t stop in the water. Does it stop in the shower? This makes zero sense.


Being submerged in the water is different than standing under a shower. When you are submerged, the pressure outside is higher than it would be if you were in the air, basically pushing against the flow of blood so it comes out more slowly.

You’re horizontal with the added pressure of being submerged in water. So no, you don’t really bleed while swimming. It’s when you get out that you have a problem if you’re not wearing a tampon.
