New to the area and in need of a fertility specialist.

Silly? Seriously? Yes, that is exactly what I am SAYING and not suggesting. You appear not to have had a rough road and serious struggles with IF that many have had on this board based on your comment. Try saying it's silly to someone who they refused to treat, prior to offering NC-IVF, because their FSH was high. Try saying it's silly to someone who is given NCIVF as their only treatment option at DF because they have high FSH. Until you have had the experience, don't judge others or use inance comments.

I would recommend Shady Grove over Dominion, but that's just my experience. I had bad experiences with both Dr. DiMattina and Dr. Gordon but had a great nurse at Shady Grove. Dr. Saffan at Shady Grove wasn't anything special, but the nurse was fantastic.

I would also highly recommend Dr Elliott and Lashgari at VA Hospital Center for an OB-GYN. I saw them prior to my pregnancy and they were great during a miscarriage and fantastic during my full term pregnancy and delivery.

Sorry for offending you. I hope you find success with another treatment.

Yes, for women with high FSH, it is very common for many REs to not be willing to treat them at all (Dominion used to be this way, Shady Grove often is, Columbia is very good about treating high FSH women).

I had a normal FSH and at age 32 was also pushed to do NC-IVF at Dominion. If they were as confident as SG is about their approach, they'd offer the same shared risk (ie money back) program - but they don't.

At SG, it seems to depend on the RE with regards to treating high FSH - some are more receptive to and better at treating high FSH patients than others. Dr. Sacks at CFA is particularly good for high FSH.

Another vote for Dr. Greenhouse in SG. He was my RE and thanks to him we have a beautiful/healthy daughter.

Obviously this debate could go on and on, but I was told DE was my only option at SG and I found success at dominion so to watch her OWN!

Carey, you probably got more advice than you bargained for, the SG vs. DF debate gets this site fired up....I'm definitely in the DF camp, but know lots of people that have had success in both places!

It's a popular debate on this forum, I have been to both places and there are advantages and disadvantages to both, but in the end I felt Dr. Gordon did everything possible to help us so my vote would be for Dominion.
