No, lol. It's fine. The snobbery is extreme. But the food is definitely not "really good." |
| I was excited to go to Olive Garden in college because I was raised a snob but I was underwhelmed. It didn’t deliver like Waffle House. |
|
All their food comes prepared in central location and the restaurant just warms it up and gives it to you.
According to waiters who worked there about 10 years ago. Not sure if they still do that. |
The soup definitely tastes like canned soup. |
You’d be surprised how many restaurants are nuking your food. Not just low caliber ones like OG. |
| Alright—I’m heading to Tysons for errands, I’m going to eat here to try the soup you are all raving about. I know I like the salad. Will report back this afternoon. |
That isn’t the flex you think it is |
Yeah, I don't care. I think it's really good. Like I said, whenever I go back to the US to visit family, I go there. I will take my sister and we will sit in Olive Garden, and it will be glorious. |
| OG is good every once in awhile. It’s at least affordable. |
| How much water weight did you pick up? How long to drop it? |
It’s sad that you come to the US and seek out OG. As if that was the best food it had to offer. |
NP here. It's really not sad. It is an uber US thing to do, so why not? Lay off the PP. She likes it. Why does that make you so sad? |
I also plan to bulk buy York Peppermint Patties and strawberry Twizzlers to take back with me. I'm such a pleb! |
You don’t have to care. Still not “really good.” |
OK, just had lunch at Olive Garden and I’m reporting back. Everyone was raving about the soup, so I wanted to try it. So I ordered the unlimited soup salad and breadsticks. First, the breadsticks. The breadstick was fine, when it was served at the table. Like when it was still hot, and I ate it right away. It was fine, maybe a 6/10. When it had cooled down, It was tough and not very good. I ate about half a breadstick and that was it. The salad is what everybody knows it is. The dressing is really good, and having them put Parmesan cheese on top is great. The lettuce is not great, there was bitter iceberg, and I think there was a little bit of Romain mixed in maybe? But mainly that bitter iceberg. Nevertheless, I do really like that salad and I enjoyed it. When I went to order the soup, I got confused because there’s like three or four different kinds. I came back to this thread to see what y’all were raving about. I saw a couple of mentions of the zuppa toscana, so that is what I ordered. It sounded like a good idea anyway, because I love sausage. I have no idea why y’all are raving about this soup. It was milky water with some potatoes and a little bit of sausage and kale. It wasn’t terrible, but it definitely wasn’t good. People are in here were comparing it to canned soup, I’ve had canned soup that was better than this. My DH had chicken parm. I’d give it a 6/10. Which for the price and convenience is fine. |
