Youngkin mandates all paper ballots for presidential elections in Virginia

Anonymous
Can someone please explain to me why republicans claimed last time that the "election was stolen" and "suitcases full of paper ballots" where brought in overnight to "steal" said election and now republicans actually *want* paper ballots now?

It makes no sense. Explain to me like I've five please. I would think they would want only electronic voting so "suitcases of ballots" can't be supposedly used next election.

He's trying to get some headlines so wary Republicans in VA will actually vote. They now believe the election is "safe" because "our guy" is in charge of elections.

In short, he's pandering to idiots so they feel good about the election and will cast a ballot.

This very good news, Only lpaper ballots will count, this means there won't be any voter fraud. Lets hope this happens in all 50 states. This guy should run for VP he very smart and very popular in Virginia.

good. following the lead of mostly other democratic states. electronic voting is a bad idea.

There is a difference between using paper ballots and faking paper ballots. Are you suggesting electronic voting machines are incapable of being hacked?

Yes, there is! Specifically, the difference is that paper ballots are extensively used, while there is zero evidence of any faking of paper ballots.

VA governor decrees grass is to be green and sky is to be blue

Youngkin has been good for Virginia. Will be better when Sears takes over and Republicans gain control in VA House and Senate.

Dems in NOVA will be calling for cession.

No one suggested that at all. I'm wonder why they want it they way they complained about it last time. Makes zero sense.

It’s because Republicans are full of crap.

Youngkin is a lying POS misogynist. He has no place in politics.

Sears and the VA GOP are a nightmare.

It wasn’t that long ago when they were pushing vaginal ultrasounds on women.

Same question here. I’ve never seen anything but a paper ballot in Virginia. Where is there another option?

First PP here and I’m trying to remember - there MAY have been all electronic voting machines in the 2012 presidential election but you also had the option for a paper ballot and I believe most people did do the paper. That was also the only year I stood in a more than ~5 minute long line to vote. It took me an hour!

This is performative. Virginia phased out touch screens I believe in 2017. We already were all paper.

Uh, voting machines, at least the ones that Trump was complaining about, have paper receipts.

Do you know what doesn't have paper receipts? The SS&S/Deibold machines used in most of the southern states and Ohio.

Hmmm.

The Dominion machines are not connected to the internet and have like 15 different physical safeguards in place to prevent hacking.

Meanwhile...

and separately, the Deibold machines used in Ohio, Kentucky etc are connected to the internet and are hackable
