No. It’s fine. We’re high income and didn’t go up to the Philly concert. Not going to the 2024 New Orleans one either. Kids 12 and under were falling asleep half way through. Have a TS movie party instead. There will be lots of concert opps in the future once an older teen and beyond. Don’t sweat it. Majority of girls did NOT go. Now we moved and happen to live in an affluent neighborhood where rising 3rd grade families rented a coach bus of moms and 8 yos to go! My kids are kind of sad we missed that, but they got over it fast. That was in the past. No ones sitting around today upset. Get a grip. |
Agree. Most of us were unable to get tickets that first 30 seconds and wants paying a 100x markup plus feels to vultures. No gracias. |
Of the people who took young kids they wish they had flown to europe, stayed at ET time, and everyone would have watched and enjoyed the late night concert better than here! Zzzzzz |
| Oh please. You are not UMC, you are WEALTHY and your kids' friends are WEALTHY. We are REAL PEOPLE UMC and barely anyone we know took their kids to see the Eras tour. The only person I know that did it happened to already be in Europe and bought scalped tickets there. |

I haven't read all the responses and of course most are not going but it seems like so many of my 12-year-old DD's have gone, including several flying to Europe to see her. I could probably swing it but am with those who say this is a ridiculous waste of money for this age. I did take her and some friends to the movie.
It does feel like the way she talks "everyone" is doing this. My DD just got back from two weeks of orchestra camp and I was happy to hear that most of the kids were not Swifites at all...it was a good reminder that cool people exist outside of this bubble. I had one mom tell me it was this generation's Woodstock. That was peace, love and happiness, this is money and Instagram. |
| No most girls have not gone. But if you want to take yours, stop looking at us tickets. They’re not affordable - $2500-$6k for any US show this fall. I took my 10 yo to Gelsenkirchen last week for the N3 show. $2000 in flights, $600 for tickets, $395 for hotel, about $400 in trains. Is it a lot for a concert- yes. Is it a lot for a once in a lifetime mother daughter trip to THE concert of this generation, the tour of the current biggest living artist? Not really. If you can swing those prices, really consider getting to Europe before she leaves in August. We had the best time together. |
+1 or I think it's more the moms want to say they went and are mom of the year kind of thing |
Yikes. This is so insanely mean and pick me. You can like all the artists you named AND go see the ones who are still alive and touring you know. |
A lot of 30something moms grew up with Taylor and do love her too. There’s nothing wrong with that. It’s fun to bond with your kid over loving the same artist. I saw so many moms and daughters at our show just genuinely having the best time together because they both love this music. |
| Fly to Japan or Europe and spend a day watching a middling American singer prance around a stage. The dumbing down of America continues. Surrounded by culture and history but they’re headed to the local concert venue to see Taylor Swift. |

I have been to several Eras shows and the average age was over 20, skewing much older. There were few teens and tweens or younger. I don’t think there were any in my section at my first show in Philly, in fact.
So no, your kids are far from alone. |
| LOL no, I think most 12 yr olds have not, just your circle... |
+1 |
| Yeah, I told my 12 year old we couldn't afford TS concert ticket prices and she was fine with it. I bought tickets to Olivia Rodrigo at the Cap Center instead. They were still insanely expensive from StubHub ($1000 for a pair) but that was doable and we had seats right off the floor. We had a great time. |
| I wish I had gotten some Chappel Roan tickets - this is music I really like and my DD does too! |
