What about overnight guests? And... most people bring tampons with them.

Why would overnight guests bring wipes with them? The only time I've had wipes they've been Clorox Wipes and I've wiped down airplane seats, not my ass. And ... doesn't everyone know to wrap their tampon in toilet paper and stuff it in the bottom of the trash can so nobody can see any hint of blood?

A lot of people (when staying overnight) bring and use flushable wipes, especially for kids who are still working on wiping. I’m with PP who thinks generally tampons are flushable unless it’s old/wonky plumbing. Going to do some research…

What kind of broken person micro-manages how the occasional guest takes a crap?

Someone who likes when water can flow through their pipes, and knows that many people never learned how to use a toilet properly. It's only "micromanaging" if you were about to clog OP's pipes.

Problem is that people who need the sign are people who would violate the sign just to spite you.

The Etsy sign is cute. Do that.

Does anyone have a gentle/humorous way of saying "please only flush toilet paper" for their guest bathroom? Do you have a sign?

Do your friends carry those wipes with them? Otherwise, no sign needed

tacky or not, I have a sign. We have grinder pumps and if tampons or wipes go down the pumps can seize up and it's a 1500-4000 fix depending on the circumstances of the damage.
(a few wipes are fine, but tampons can get bunched up and seize the impeller).

I would have said "no sign necessary" until MORE THAN ONE person chimed in to say they flushed tampons.

Yeah totally blown away at the multiple people flushing tampons. Do you go nowhere??? It’s a sign almost in every public toilet.

Do people really flush tampons down the toilet?

I thought when they said not to flush tampons they meant not to flush the applicator. I had no idea people took that nasty bloody tampon and rolled it in toilet paper and put it in a trash can.

Ignoramus.

Most people that live in the city are not on a Septic system. When wipes , tampons , sanitary napkins ,etc get flushed , they go into the septic tank and they don't break down. They also can destroy your leach field that can cost literally thousands of dollars .People in the city don't even think about a family or community septic system. In third world countries , in small villages , they don't even put toilet paper into the toilet ,just your pee and poop. They don't have the luxury of having a tru k pump their septic tank. They have to clean it by hand with shovel and bucket

Just put a sign. Small, laminated, on top of the tank. It’s fine.
