We have one in our back yard. Along with a family of bunnies. It’s eaten a plant but that’s it. Leave it alone.

If this is the case, there are many natural repellents that can easily convince them to move along. I believe the stories of groundhog attacks have been greatly exaggerated. They will not eat your children.

Groundhogs are nocturnal and seeing one in daylight is certainly a good possibility that it could have rabies. Your stupid is catching so don't infect your children!

Yes! It's been great, actually. He continued sniffing the area again today. Usually, he has zero interest in being in the backyard, especially in this heat. The frantic sniffing has helped to burn some of his energy.

So nobody understands general wildlife here, actually things a groundhog is a problem? Is this for real?

Get used to- deer, fox, chimpmonks, squirrels, ground hogs, possuns, raccoons, preybirds like hawks, snakes, lizards,
turtles, coyotes...they live here. Except for a very occasional rabid coyote or fox, and it is very rare, it is not your job to hurt or
displace them. Ever!
Leave them alone. We are the perpetrators, not them.
