They do not get worse every year. Last year wasn't too bad. In the 2000s we has a lot of thunderstormy summers. Weather patterns come and ago.

This is rediculous now.

Then why are you here?

Are you mentally impaired? Are you currently incarcerated? Are your feet cast in concrete? Is someone forcing you to remain here at gun point?

What is keeping you from leaving? I don’t understand. Can you explain to all of us why you’re still here?

Keep buying new clothes each season. Keep getting seasonal tchotchkes for holidays and kids' birthdays. Keep buying berries year round and apples from Chile. Keep going to the polls and voting and hoping for the best. Keep buying bitcoin. Keep doing what you're doing. Everything is fine. It will all be fine.

I’m down with all that except for Bitcoin.

And I love the summer weather here in DC. Love heat and humidity.

It might be the northern edge of the south, but it’s still the south. We’re basically at sea-level, at a latitude only 15 degrees away from the tropics. Of course it’s going to be blazing hot and super humid in the summers.

Why are people constantly surprised by this???

Do you not understand how to look at a map?

It is getting worse. I moved here from the South decades ago and summers were a breeze. The temps almost never were near 100. Not only is the heat horrible but the persistent drought makes the area look like a hellscape. I like to garden and have adjusted the plants I grow because of the changing climate.

I was born here decades before you moved here decades ago. It’s always been like this.

When I lived in MN I complained about the -40 degree windchill days. Living here I complain about anything over 90 degrees. Just because it is expected doesn’t mean that it doesn’t suck.

Yeah but you know what? I hate cold and would NEVER move to Minnesota or someplace similar that got that cold under any circumstances. Ever.

Why? Because I hate cold.

So why are all these people who hate heat and humidity not smart enough to do the same?

I simply cannot fathom this.

But also at times it won't be becauase bad weather happens, heat waves happen, flood causing rain happens, earthquakes happen, because Earth is still Earth. I sometimes think environmentalist do not save the Earth, which doesn't make sense as a concept, but want to stop bad weather and natural.disasters from happening. If we are good little humans, making sacrifices by inconvenience, the Earth will oblige and be good. It is a false religion really.

I was born here as well and am now in my 40's. The weather we had this past week never occurred before mid-July/early August.

Because you’re mentally broken. None of those things are desirable.

There are weather records. Go look at Wikipedia for chrissake. It’s getting hotter and it’s unpleasant.

I am referencing a weather record. Look up the weather in 2011. Look up the weather in the 18th century at that.

Yes, there was a heat wave in July 2011 that peaked on July 22nd.
But my point was that in the 80's, 90's and aughts, we never had a heat wave in June.
