Why are millennials still the center of style discourse when theyre in their 30s? It's all so odd.

It's because millennials still think the world is centered around them. They're so used to al the conversations being around them (they had their own color, their own drinks, etc.) that they just can't stand to have a new generation take over, and they are trying to make everything a competition so they can remain part of the conversation.

All the influencers quoted in these articles bashing millennials are Gen Z. I don't think millennials are the ones drawing attention to their socks.

Corporate cash grab feeding off of surface culture.

My favorite part of this thread is the identification of the heretofore unknown, at least to me, scourge of Big Hosiery. This is why I cannot quite DCUM.

Exactly. When we (millennials) were young we wanted to be cute and go out with our friends and our peers were our focus. I certainly did not focus on what some 40yo mom was wearing.

Gen Z has too much time on their hand and too many platforms for various nonsense. Also their fashion is terrible, don't care what they think of my socks.

+100
When we were young we expected moms to look like moms. Any moms that didn't were weird and embarrassing.

Right?? It is so bizarre. When I was in my early 20s I was not paying attention to the 45 year old mom wrangling her 2 kids at the store and what she was wearing.

Millennials dont really care about gen z. Actually, it seems like no one outside of gen z cares about gen z. How many gen z celebrities could the average person even name? All the biggest celebs, be it in movies, music, television, etc are millennials. Most people couldnt even pick the biggest, most "A-list" (to their peers) Gen-z celebs out of a lineup. Meanwhile the media landscape is still dominated, DOMINATED, by millennials. So I've never seen millennials particularly stressing about them and if anything most millennials still consider themselves the youngest generation and barely realize Gen Z exists 😅

Thank the damn lord. No show socks are so impractical. Other than with athletic shoes/socks, I've never found ones that stay up on my size 11 foot, and I've tried a lot.

I don’t understand the controversy. Wear whatever socks you choose, nobody cares.

I've been wearing ankle socks forever. I always thought no-show socks were tacky.

I also tried over the years I maybe found one paid that that didn’t slip down if you’re doing any real walking. So, I no longer wear them.
