The constant millennial vs gen z discourse is very bizarre. I cant remember millennials particularly caring what Xers were up to, and certainly not fixating or constantly trashing them the way Gen Z does to millennials. Why are millennials still the center of style discourse when theyre in their 30s? It's all so odd.
It's because millennials still think the world is centered around them. They're so used to al the conversations being around them (they had their own color, their own drinks, etc.) that they just can't stand to have a new generation take over, and they are trying to make everything a competition so they can remain part of the conversation.
Millennials dont really care about gen z. Actually, it seems like no one outside of gen z cares about gen z. How many gen z celebrities could the average person even name? All the biggest celebs, be it in movies, music, television, etc are millennials. Most people couldnt even pick the biggest, most "A-list" (to their peers) Gen-z celebs out of a lineup. Meanwhile the media landscape is still dominated, DOMINATED, by millennials. So I've never seen millennials particularly stressing about them and if anything most millennials still consider themselves the youngest generation and barely realize Gen Z exists 😅
