Do you mean immigrants who come and stay here illegally? We do an incredible job of welcoming, assisting and supporting honest immigrants who want to work and rajlise their families here. Our schools also provide many services from housing and medocal assistance to food and support for kids with special needs.

Illegals are blocked from entering Canada.

At best, four more years of the constant stress wrought by having an ignorant, low IQ, increasingly demented, habitually dishonest, thoroughly corrupt, wholly amoral, felonious, narcissist bully in the White House, cozying up to our enemies, shattering norms, dismantling the federal government, and being our Commander in Chief — not to mention all of the felons, liars, cheats, grifters and Christian Nationalists who will serve in his administration, some of whom have competing loyalties to our foreign adversaries. Trump has already appointed 1/3 of the Supreme Court. Imagine if he gets to appoint more? He’ll appoint more federal judges. That’s all best case scenario.

Quite the rant. Not surprising that you are unable to do simple math.

Gorsuch, Kavanaugh, Coney Barrett. That’s 3 out of 9 total. 3 is 1/3 of 9. Which part are you disputing?

They're already thinking about packing (increasing) the Supreme Court.

Trump appointed 1/3 of the current SC after losing the popular vote. His appointments didn’t reflect the will of the voters. If reelected, he will have the potential to appoint more justices. Voters should take this very seriously.

Every day was misery under Trump. He was and is a lunatic.

9 isn't set in stone.

It was meant to reflect the different circuits, but as we added more circuits, we didn't add to the SCOTUS.

Not like anything can actually get done at this point with everything being in complete imbalance. We have absolute gridlock at the highest levels.

It's not Trump, it's MAGA. They have weaponized the law in key states to limit protests, etc. There will not be a way to turn on him because it's a party, not just a candidate.

Why do people who want to move because of Trump always choose to move to a whiter country? Shouldn't you want to move to Cameroon or something to own Trump sufficiently?

Well, you're right on Cameroon if folks are looking for secession movements over French/English language dominance. But other than that, Biya has been president since 1982 so Cameroon is more like Trump than Trudeau.

Just like the Republicans didn't move when Biden came to power, Democrats aren't moving either. In four years we have another election. Life goes on.

I must admit I'm curious as to why it's always the left who freaks out and posts about moving when it seems like a Republican is going to win, but the right never freaks out and posts about moving overseas when a Democrat wins.

The R doesn't freak out, they hold an insurrection.

You can actually drive to Canada. And easily return to the US to visit family. And you don’t have to learn a new language. And it’s not about “owning” Trump; it’s about not being subjected to his policies.

I'm the PP on Cameroon. Technically the country is divided b/t English and French speakers, but there's a ton of conflict, including repression of Anglo-speakers and Anglo-oriented political parties by the dominant Francophone government.

D doesn't freak out. They just loot, burn, murder, lock law enforcement in police stations and try to set them on fire, destroy public and private property, blind cops with lasers and throw bottles filled with ice at them in multiple cities for months on end.

He didn't do much in his first four years. Another four years wouldn't be a big deal.

Project 2025

Lots of words, how will it be implemented?

The NYT published a big spread about how various special interest groups and even fed bureaucracies are getting ready to battle Trump by blocking him at every turn. Which, ironically, only reconfirms to the Republican half of the country that there is definitely an anti-democratic deep state. Nonetheless, the previous poster is correct, outside the media hysteria of 2016-2020, a great deal of it self made through delusional belief like Russian interference and the Steele Dossier that turned out to be fraudulent, very little changed other than tax cuts and a strong anti-illegal immigrant stance, which did see migration across the borders fall sharply.

I do occasionally see these fearful posts from people who genuinely do think Trump storm troopers are going to round up trans people and send them to concentration camps and only shake my head at amazement.

Roe.

Did they prevent the lawful transfer of power? How do you folks not grasp that?
