Airport Outfits 2024 Summer

I typically wear jeans on a flight, top + a jacket for warmth.

All black because if you have a spill, it’s not so obvious. And layers with the top a black Quince cashmere hoodie. Our whole family has one.
Stretch jeans, short sleeved black t shirt, in colder weather, also a long sleeved black t shirt, said hoodie. Black socks and flats.

Is it too much of hassle to put on actual clothes? One of the things I hate most about flying is the complete lack of social norms.

I wear Brooklyn pants from Athleta, sneakers, a cotton tee and a sweatshirt or zip up light jacket.

Frankly, this is what I hate most about general living these days. People have no sense of decorum and are bold and shameless about it.

I’m on a runway taxiing right now in that outfit. Vuori joggers, t shirt, vuori hoodie and sketchers. This is for a 15 hour travel day. Generally, for short flight, which I take several times a week, I just wear whatever I was wearing otherwise, but generally with the sketchers. I have precheck, so I don’t need to take off the shoes but I find them so much more comfortable for planes.

Assuming you are going from a warm place to a warm place, I like dresses like these:

And I just put on a pair of compression socks while in my seat if a long flight. Onviously, I don't actually wear them out of the seat!

Nah, I just don’t want to deal with all the fabric in an airport situation.

I think pants are better for going through security in case they have to manually scan you or whatever it’s called with the wand.

I wear exact same thing!

If they have to lose or delay some of the luggage it should only be that of the pajama wearing travelers.

Black wide leg pants, sandals, white tank, hat and scarf if it's chilly in the plane.

If there is what you and PP consider to be "a complete lack of social norms," it's likely that there are social norms -- and you just don't know what they are.

Last I traveled the look was cut off jean shorts (super short) and a sports bra, no shirt. This was the look for all ages - teens to 40/50s.

Stop it. Slop.

I have to start with the shoes, specific shoes. Worn for part of each day, or I'll develop foot/joint problems later in the trip.
