| Amy Jackson! I support her because she’s a lifelong Alexandria resident who has been involved locally for many years and has tons of institutional knowledge. I also support her because of her background in education and because her children are ACPS students. Her background helps her to make sensible choices such as opposing removal of school resource officers and opposing the arena. |
I, like probably most Alexandria residents, am not a lifelong resident. And I resent the Jackson campaign's insinuation that people like me are somehow less worthy of a voice in local politics. |
100% agree. Though I do slightly resent those who moved here because they became unelectable in their original county/city. |
50% of 20%! Now that’s cause to claim a referendum!! |
| Looks like Gaskins is winning handily. So far with 27 precincts reporting, Jackson has carried only the City Hall precinct in Old Town. |
| Charlotte Scherer, who has a DUI and has been banned from a local tattoo shop for bothering the staff, looks like she may pick up a city council seat. |
| 11 percent overall turnout between the two primaries. Lol Alexandria is such trash. |
| The worst is that Canek looks like he’s going to just barely sneak into the sixth council seat. |
Looks like Greene pulled in front Scherer. |
| Oh, and didn't Greg Gaskins take out the Majestic’s outdoor seating area and was conveniently not arrested? |
| Huskey the king of the NIMBYs finished dead last with less than half the votes of the first place finisher. How sweet it is! |
| I wonder if Iesha's husband will be allowed to drive city vehicles? |
O’Connell, king of the YiMBYs and Wilson simp, also trounced. How sweet it is! |
Ha. Dude was a poser too. |
| Alyia Smith Parker Fortescue Romuald Leonardo Monty Kale Handsworth Tarkington Gaskins is the mayor now! |
