Who are you supporting and why? Gaskins, Jackson, or Peterson?

I voted for Peterson.

Gaskins is a carbon copy of the current mayor. Jackson is a follower, not a leader.

For the most part, I voted for new voices in the city council - the current council has continually not listened to the voices of constituents, and I'm tired of it. Most of my votes went to the newbies.

Anyone but Jackson. She's not smart and just tries to do what she thinks people want her to do to be popular. Her claiming to be anti-stadium when her little poll came back was so laughable.

Jackson by process of elimination.

Peterson is a misogynist jerk and embodies “white men can do it all with no experience.” Yuck, no way, no thank you.

Gaskins needs more experience and ability to differentiate herself as a leader. Right now she seems to be a carbon copy of Wilson. And honestly, the issues with her husband are concerning, despite ALXDems wanting to sweep them under the rug.

What does this mean? Are you one of those narcissists in Alexandria who thinks anyone who doesn’t subscribe to your version of the local Dem party isn’t really a Democrat? Or the portion that likes to deride women who may not do as well with public speaking and link it to their intelligence?

I am really tired of this comparison, as well as the comments that she isn’t smart. Quite honestly, they are disgraceful and probably come from a particular cohort of AlxDems that seem oddly hell bent on destroying other Dems. It’s a terrible look.

And it’s equally pathetic that this group has solicited significant outside funds to support their campaigns. When a candidate’s chances of election are largely based on name recognition, I am really uncomfortable with the outside resources and money flowing into this campaign cycle. I am looking at you, Gaskins and O’Connell.

Wow, you are projecting a lot into a pretty straightforward statement. But since you seem to support Jackson, I'd suggest making a positive case for her election on the merits.

Given the historically very low turnout for off-year primaries, I'd guess most who show up to vote are pretty well-versed on the candidates and issues - especially in a highly educated and political town like Alexandria.

PP - sorry I see that Silberg actually endorsed her (not sure she wanted that endorsement). I took this as some backhanded comment falsely linking Jackson to that toxic BIBA group.

If this was true, candidates wouldn’t need large outside groups campaigning for them who can’t pronounce their names correctly.
