| I know a Matilda who goes by Milly |
I have a 5 year old and we don't know any Olives or Penelopes or Matildas. I think outside the top 10 you're pretty safe on the "guaranteed to have another in your grade" front. |
No no, no. and no. |
| I love it OP. |
Beautiful name with lots of nn options: Meg, Daisy, Margo, Margie. |
It reads Australian to me, too, but I do like it. Although, isn't it spelled "Mathilda"? |
Also a musical. And there's "Waltzing Matilda" |
Plenty of Aussies called Matilda. Ranked number 7 in popular girl names there last year. Where’d you come up with the dildo nickname? |
My DD is named the Irish version of Margaret, and I think her name is beautiful! She is Mairead. (Margaret is her grandmother and great-grandmother's name, so Mairead is named in their honor). |
|
I know a lady named Tilghman who goes by Tilly.

I like the nn spelled Tillie. Tilda is lovely too but more of an adult nn. I love names that can grow with a child.
I think it’s adorable! I too had a husband who only liked top 10 names. It was really annoying and uncreative of him in my mind. |
Hey! Ma-til-da; Ma-til-da; Ma-til-da, she take me money and run a-Venezuela. |
The Welsh version is Megan. No h. |
