Kids should definitely watch soccer on TV.
So should parents. They might yell at the refs a bit less if they learn the danged Laws of the Game. (Not that all pro coaches and commentators know them.) |
True about the parents needing to know the game more |
Especially before trying to give their kids coaches and others advice |
That’s the joke, isn’t it. My DD would do much better in Europe than here in the US. She is fast but small and light. |
| Nope. I don’t even know if they know there is soccer on tv. |
McLean just announced that they are hosting the Olympique Lyonnaise's U19 team in June. Will be interesting to see how their style of play compares to US / northern Virginia! They'll scrimmage VA Union 2007s and the McLean WPSL team while they're here. |
That would be a fun game to watch! |

All.of.the.time.
Our 14 DS will take up early on Saturday morning to watch -- particularly if Liverpool is playing. He schedules life around Liverpool playing. But will watch any soccer that's on. If he's not watching, he's playing XBox FIFA. He will start HS in the fall and we went to sevearl JV/Varsity games to watch and learn what the HS is doing. He refs. He watches YouTube or Reels about game highlights. We've watched Ted Lasso, Welcome to Wrexham, and The English Game movie. He's been like this for years so maybe not as a little kid but for quite a while it's soccer. more soccer. and then more soccer. |
