No girls should not watch professional European soccer. The girls/womens game in the US has little to nothing in common with the major European leagues -men’s or women’s. The Europeans change formations based on who has the ball and/or field position, they pass out of pressure, commonly put 4-7 pass together and have a very high speed of play. The majority of US travel coaches do not even watch those leagues or understand was is happening on the field.

If the girls watch that style of play they will want to play that way. That style of play does not fit what the travel coaches want. Now the NWSL and college soccer fits the travel/ECNL style of play. [/quote]

McLean just announced that they are hosting the Olympique Lyonnaise's U19 team in June. Will be interesting to see how their style of play compares to US / northern Virginia! They'll scrimmage VA Union 2007s and the McLean WPSL team while they're here. [/quote]
