How tough/easy is it to get a $15-20 per hour job at age 62?

Even if they get those jobs, the pay is tough because 30% goes to pay taxes.

I’m 55 and one of the hardest workers on my team. I don’t have childcare issues, haven’t had a sick day in 9 years, am quick to support rest of the team, and can’t imagine how I’d get hurt in the office anymore than a 30-year-old. The best workers are mothers. We are extraordinary multitaskers and we know how to get $hit done, done quickly, and done right!

Most 55 year olds have a ton of medical appts. You are an outlier.

I had a ton of medical appointments at 37. Should employers not have hired me?

So you are against disabled people and people with chronic illnesses too.

You are a peach!

The 20 something we just hired can't do a single task without an ego, spends half the day on their phone, and can't even do the tasks of a 5th grader but sure.

No - I'm a younger woman married to a 60 year old man. He never goes to the doctor, and he hardly ever gets sicks. It's crazy. He works harder than anyone I know.

My mother is 70 and she never goes to the doctor either.

I'm 58yo and get an annual mammogram, annual skin check, gyn every other year, dentist twice a year, and colonoscopy every 5 years and that's not including any appointments for illness or things that go wrong (frozen shoulder a couple years ago).
