Because the girl put it out for the world to consume on TikTok??? How is OP the problem and not the student who is bragging publicly and openly on the internet about how much school she got away with skipping?

Are you familiar with social media? There are over 150 million active TikTok users just in the US. Why is the OP posting about one random student?

Seriously. You are asking me if I'm familiar with social media and yet you have the expectation of privacy and are complaining about a post that an MCPS students posted on TikTok, which is GOING VIRAL if you look at the likes and the comments and generating LOTS of conversation, and yet you're complaining that OP brought it to a forum on MCPS as if they did something wrong or went through extraordinary lengths to unearth this information.

Are you ok?

Oh, well, if it's a TikTok that is GOING VIRAL, then...Nope. I still don't understand the focus on one individual high school senior.

Because her behavior is a symptom of a broader systemic problem that we've discussed a lot on this very forum? Chronic absenteeism and the failure of MCPS to enforce its attendance policies?

If I wanted to talk about a broader systemic problem, I would talk about a broader systemic problem, not a social media post by one individual high school senior, but that's just me, I guess.

When talking about systemic problems, it's good to have specific evidence and examples of said problem in the wild to point to. I would say a current MCPS high school bragging about how many days she got away with skipping and still graduating is a good evidence to support a discussion about chronic absenteeism and students who take advantage of MCPS's lax enforcement of its attendance policies.

No, that's not evidence, that's an anecdote.

There was an entire thread about chronic absenteeism, the SOB talked about how there are no incentives or consequences to being absent. This is an issue. MCPS acknowledges. This is an issue so I don’t know why you’re pushing back on it.
