| Congratulations! |
|
That is probably the most fabulous thing I've read on the college forum for a very, very long time.
Congratulations to your kid. |
| Awesome! Congratulations! Here’s to a great four years. |
So petty and myopic. You say OP owes you nothing, then bone on again about how she didn't offer up the stats you wanted. As I said upthread, stats won't help you. All these kids have the stats. Quit hounding someone when they posted to celebrate. Start your own thread asking for (useless) stats from those admitted from WLs. |
Disagree. If stats are low (relatively) or there is a hook, it puts a very different spin on the acceptance and lets others know that getting off the waitlist there is highly unlikely for anyone else. I also disagree that all kids getting into these schools are very high stats. Sure, most are…definitely not all. |
| Congrats! Thats truly amazing! I was waitlisted by Brown in 95. Still waiting for that acceptance. |
| Congrats!!! |
I was waitlisted in the 80s….still waiting too. I really wanted to go there!!! |
It is none of your business. This is her KID, not her. |
| OP was actually incredibly helpful. She told us how the school contacted her and what the interests of the student was. She didn't have to do that. For someone - me - who has a child on the waitlist that was a lot. If you want stats, I'll be happy to share: perfect or near perfect GPA. Most rigorous course load your school offers in your area of interest and pretty good ECs that demonstrate leadership. Scores: look at the range of the school and be in them. There are no surprises here other than the competition is fierce and everyone has what you have. OP: Thank you again for sharing your child's area of interest and how the school contacted you. Best of luck to you! |
If OPs kid is full pay, that changes the equation for many kids. Anyone not full pay should just move on. |
| Just kidding |
|
This can confuse kids though, at this point in the process.
Do you know what your kid will do OP? |
| My fiend's son also- already committed to ND so trying to decide what to do as they were very excited about ND once they got on board. |
A couple weeks of confusions is nothing in the scheme of things. |
