| OP asked why they are letting DD take online classes, not making her, so it sounds like it was her choice. Good for the school for having options. DD needs to limit the information she gives him parents. They don't need to know the physical location of each class. |
| These public schools are not meant to provide you personalized education. Isn’t that why you sent your kids to DC privates? |
| Like many Southern universities seeing growth at a rate that is hard to keep pace with from an internal resource standpoint. |
But more applications and students means more $$ so where are those resources going? |
| Geez, I had no idea! But, I guess just like zoom meetings aren’t disappearing from the workplace, I guess online classes are also here to stay. |
Or, if you are paying over 60k oos tuition at Michigan or UVA, you don’t get what you pay for. |
Have you seen their football stadium? Suites & amenities for VIPs? You’re the bankroll |
| Since YOU are the one paying for the OOS tuition why are you allowing your kid to choose to take online classes? |
No it's not. If kids are living in the dorms and on campus they should have in person classes. That's absurd. |
UFlorida and U Arizona. |
Exactly $0 in tuition money goes to football or any other sports program. The athletic department has its own, separate, budget, and at a school like UTK that budget is huge. |
| OP - can you please clarify if your kid chose to take online classes or if they were forced to as no-in person option available? |
Gee I didn’t see Michigan listed? Perhaps you’re projecting a bit? Still pissed that Michigan is so highly rated? |
|
Here is a listing of Michigan’s online only classes through Coursers. It’s very extensive.
https://online.umich.edu/ It’s also, for the most part, free. |
