So, where should they live? "Somewhere else" and "Over there" are not places people can live.

Wrong! They can live in PG county, Charles County, Baltimore and elsewhere

So you think that black and hispanic people shouldn't live anywhere near you and "your kind"? Is that it? You realize how racist you sound?

DP here. You seem to be making a lot of assumptions based on the race of people. I see nothing in OP's post about race. Who's the racist now?

A lot of the so called rich are overspending creating this problem and going into debt or living pay check to pay check to afford the lifestyle. Look at all the rich parents on the college board screaming poverty while living in million dollar plus houses.

The irony with you folks is that the reason that American blue collar workers can’t afford to live nearby to the people they service is precisely because you people advocate for millions of illegals. American blue collar workers used to live in MoCo in smaller homes, garden apartments, etc, but those housing units are now taken by illegal aliens.

This is correct and this also applies to legal immigrants. Basically you have flooded the market with cheaper and cheaper labor which might be great for the economy, because you can hire cheap labor, which means cheaper prices. But individually it means those people get paid peanuts. So then you have to have a group of people renting a house or a room so they can afford it. It’s not a good cycle.

Right?! I don't care what color my neighbors are....just don't want them to be poor. 🤷

It’s not like you’re going to clean your own house.

You’ve just proven the OPs point. Average prices for SFHs in Montgomery County are the second cheapest in the DMV, only behind PG County.

Comparatively it’s one of the most affordable places to live in the region. So the only reason it’s unaffordable is because the population is poor.

The fact that it is cheaper than DC, Fairfax and Arlington does not make it affordable.

You are the one who is racist, for quickly assuming I'm talking about POC. White working class people can -- and do!-- also find more affordable apartments and homes in those counties!!

Then they will work there. Who will clean your house and take care of your kids?

Baloney. They already do commute from further out. My plumber (white) lives in Hagerstown, my landscaper (Latino) lives in Adelphi, and most of the hourly wage workers at my Bethesda job commute from outside of Frederick. Spoiler alert: all these people make more money coming to work in Bethesda than they would make going to work in Germantown. So they drive their Toyotas further south. It's smart.

Boom. Wheaton, Silver Spring, Kensington used to be very blue collar.

Stop with that ridiculous, asinine crap.
Most people clean their own houses.
Stupid cliche platitudes make you look like a fool.

Oh no. You caught me. White Irish Catholic family with HHI under $100 and moved from DC to Montgomery County for the schools.
Sorry not sorry
