So, where should they live? "Somewhere else" and "Over there" are not places people can live.

Wrong! They can live in PG county, Charles County, Baltimore and elsewhere

No surprise, the progressive dems are bring crime and disfunction to MOCO.

So, where do you want your nanny, store workers, teachers, social workers, police, fire fighters, gardeners, trash folks to live? If they move away, then what

1 out of every 2 new households is low-income (earning under $50,000 a year), which means the county is capturing an outsized share of low-income households.

Of course the progressive response will be entirely predictable: upend your way of life so that they can build housing for poorer people while simultaneously raising your taxes to pay for all of their social programs they will inevitably need. Wait until school quality keeps declining. R.I.P. home values in MoCo. The progressives there continually make the county poorer and poorer. They will come for any semblance of wealth to try to redistribute it to all of the impoverished people they're importing.

Oh they're very willing to pay the higher taxes to keep a steady stream of housekeepers, landscapers, and nannies. But only as long as their help live in Silver Spring and Wheaton.

Problem is Wheaton and silver spring prices have gone way up too. We are happy to have them.

SFHs are too expensive for the MC and there aren't that many of them. Most construction is multi family.

You’ve just proven the OPs point. Average prices for SFHs in Montgomery County are the second cheapest in the DMV, only behind PG County.

Comparatively it’s one of the most affordable places to live in the region. So the only reason it’s unaffordable is because the population is poor.

Can you expand on this please? What policies do you think are bad, and what would you have preferred?

Unfettered acceptance in MD and MoCo of illegal immigration.

Of course they're impoverished when they come to them country illegally. Now they want taxpayers in the county to shoulder the burden and spread their hard earned wealth to foreign nationals in the country illegally.

What does "unfettered acceptance" mean? What policies does MoCo have and what policies do you think it should have?

SANCTUARY CITY????? CASA????? Question, do you live under a rock? Really don't care about your answer.

Ha! They're not bringing it, it is already there and firmly planted, not going anywhere. Enjoy your Utopia!

The irony with you folks is that the reason that American blue collar workers can’t afford to live nearby to the people they service is precisely because you people advocate for millions of illegals. American blue collar workers used to live in MoCo in smaller homes, garden apartments, etc, but those housing units are now taken by illegal aliens.

CASA is not a policy.

"Montgomery County is not a "sanctuary" jurisdiction. Local police and the Department of Correction and Rehabilitation work cooperatively with ICE in their work on immigration and customs violations and drug and human trafficking. The County's arrest and detention information goes to the State and all State information is accessed by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) through their Secure Communities initiative."

Income inequality is increasing in our entire country. This isn't new for MoCo. The rich are getting richer, prices of everything from groceries to rent are increasing so the poor are staying stagnant or getting poorer.

Yes, MoCo honors ICE detainers but they used to call the FBI field office (which is in Baltimore) and give them 1 hour to show up to pick up the person, otherwise they cut them loose. Try mobilizing your team and getting from from Baltimore to Rockville in 1 hour in rush hour traffic.

Now MoCo will do 48-hour ICE detainer holds. But want to know when this started? February 2024. All these years, they were not giving ICE reasonable advanced notice:

It took a hardened criminal stealing a tow truck and going on a rampage to finally get MoCo to make the change.

So you think that black and hispanic people shouldn't live anywhere near you and "your kind"? Is that it? You realize how racist you sound?

Then they will work there. Who will clean your house and take care of your kids?

They don't want any families, including whites who cannot afford or not willing to pay $1 million for a crummy house. They wouldn't want us either. Thankfully my kids go with those "poor" kids to school and not the rich families as I wouldn't want that attitude and influence on my kids.
