Zip line over the campus lake and canoes, boats. Students get use of brand new wellness center- free massages, free acupuncture and reiki, meditation rooms. I took the regular tour last year and none of this was showcased. |
My son really enjoyed chatting with the professors. They were engaging and fun and really want to be there teaching undergrads. |

We've gone to 4 - my kid is truly undecided. They've been fun, but also long and exhausting. If you were in, and didn't have any questions, I don't think there's much need to go.
As for people saying you might meet a roommate - I don't see how. The tours were like the tours before applying - everyone stayed in their family group, very little cross talk. We ate lunch as a family. We walked around as a family. Very little chance to break free and really meet people. |
Wow - that's incredible!!! |
At the W&M DFAS, there were social events for students (and parents). Plus, there were a bunch mini-tours where it was easier to strike up a conversation with another student. |
Yes. The Monroe event also had separate events for just the students and just the parents. |
Wait - so all students get free massages??? Or was that just for the admitted students event? |
| Here is a link to all of the WM Wellness Center services. It is a great benefit. https://www.wm.edu/offices/wellness/programs-services/ |
All the time. Not just admitted days. Also can take paddle boats, canoes, kayaks out on lake anytime they want. Amenities very nice. |
| And these are the outdoor offerings at WM. Campus recreation does a great job. https://www.wm.edu/offices/wellness/campusrec/programs/outdoorrec/trips/ |
I don’t think those appointments are free (my kid goes to W&M and loves it). |
I loved the lady in charge of it. She was fantastic and will make just about anything happen for the students if they ask. |

Massage Prices for Students $55 for one hour
Acupuncture, Therapeutic Massage or Reiki Session 30 minutes $40* 60 minutes $55 90 minutes $85* |
Most of the big events were online, but the calendar is filled with many other things that only someone on campus could experience. They did mention that this year was the largest international admit they've had, with over 94 countries represented (most of whom probably didn't come to this though). I believe 15% of the class of 2028 is international students. |
So now I'm confused - are the services free or not? Can anyone confirm? My kid gets massages all the time so free massages would be very nice. |
