Do they play possession or play from the back? Or do they play kickball where most goals are from fast breaks or feeding the ball to the striker from corners or your half? I find that the teams on EDP 1 don’t play possession consistently bc there aren’t enough players who have the technical skills or confidence to do it. When pressured, they boot the ball instead of taking on a 1 v 1 or finding someone to pass it too. ECNL or ECNL-RL teams they beat prob play the same way as them. |
I seriously hope you're not trying to insinuate ECNL/ECRL teams are out here playing Man City, Barca, Bayer Leverkusen type ball |
No, the opposite. I think most are not. Point being that how a team does (win percentages or who they can beat) or what league they play in does not equate to whether their individual players are better than others. Or as I was responding to a PP, explains how EDP 1 teams can beat ECNL teams even without full commitment from its players. |
| If you want college coaches looking at you- ECNL and ECRL has made it easy for college coaches |
No matter how easy a league makes it, the coaches are going after where the best/most high quality are concentrated. Which would be MLS Next. Then the rest. |
That goes without saying. But this topic is about, or was at some point, ECRL and EDP1. |
Any good player that gets off their ass and does the work to connect with college coaches will be scouted/recruited. Regardless of league. |
No, they are quite good in that they maintain possession for most of the game by either dribbling or making short passes. My kid is excellent at passing, but he's not as good at dribbling through/around. His team is very good at intercepting passes too. I can't speak for the other levels (the kids who are beating ECNL teams). |
| EcNL by club and ga by club is the pathway to become a Jedi knight. The rest are just Mandalorians. It is the way! |
|
| LOL |
Keep telling yourself that as you play in a subpar league |
On the girl’s side? No. Not the case. |
