My mind is going to mush...teach me some new words and phrases

Anonymous
OP here. Thanks for freerice.com, which is a nice daily quiz. I have a pretty good vocabulary and I already do word of the day, but I am always looking to pick up neat expressions (the kind journalists like using, like "dead cat bounce" ad "ring-fencing the problem"). But some of the words were new to me, so thanks!

"Schadenfreude "
Ha! "F-you lady, that's what stairs are for!"

- Back to OP: I make a list at my office of words and phrases I hear throughout the day/week and try to use them regularly.
To list a few:
- 'narrative dead ends'
- 'morally bankrupt'
- 'in the interest of transparency'
- cryptic
- vortex
- quagmire
- pettifogerry (used frequently in DC)

Good luck, OP. After I had DD, I, too, feel like my mind and vocabulary went ka-pooey.
