Totally disagree, unless your swimmer is just in it for fun. Then again, who does club swim for fun? Quality of the coaching, team culture, and fit of the program for YOUR kid are paramount. And yes, the pool needs to be located such that you’re willing and able to drive your kid there for practices. Some parents are just lazy I guess.

You could have left that last sentence out.
Point of been there done that swim parents advising one with a 9 year old is that at that age you don't need to commute to the top club or pool yet. You can find a good program with a convenient location and schedule anywhere within the DMV area. Swim is long haul that leads to many EARLY mornings so try to make the young years as easy as possible!!!
