Sounds a lot like the lunch at DD’s school. She still takes lunch nah from home because she says a lot of the food is gross. For instance, she says that sandwiches tend to be soggy; you can press the bread and water will come out. Or they have to take cheese off pizza because it tastes like plastic.

She does say some things are good, like mozzarella sticks. Her favorite item in ES was the brown rice with orange chicken and she says the current version is terrible.

any complaints about these?

She said the fajitas and wraps aren’t that good, the tacos are “mid”, and the chicken wings really really good. She ate her packed lunch and got wings today. She says she won’t have the cheese sticks tomorrow, although she really likes them and probably will.

By MS, I tend to send a fully packed lunch. Alternately, I'll send a few supplements if they want to grab something hot, like chicken tenders or mozzarella sticks.

Even my my most veggie-loving kid says that the fruit and vegetable offerings are old, bruised and generally gross. Supplements from home are typically fresh fruits and pre-cut veg, along with some protein like yogurt, cheese, nuts/nut butters, hummus, etc. that go with the fruits and veggies.
