I think it only happens in sports forums where folks without knowledge, expertise or experience weigh in as experts. If there's an Aeronautics or Astrophysics forum, John the accountant isn't giving his opinion as factual knowledge just because he travels on planes and can see the stars from his backyard. |
The hard part about youth soccer is that there's so many people with agendas that it's hard to get a gauge on what's good information and what's BS. Also in different parts of the nation different clubs, teams, and leagues do well. Just to make things even more difficult Boys and Girls youth soccer is both the same and different at the same time. Here's some hints... - Most youth clubs are nonprofits and the owners of bigger clubs make 300K+ per year - Coaches and Clubs buy into a ideology (GA, ECNL, MLSN, etc) and become of their biggest cheerleaders because it makes them money - Many parents think that if their kid just trains enough, they can be the next soccer phenom. (clubs feed on this) - Many parents get caught up in the drama. (clubs feed on this) |
Which like other things, makes this very cult like. So strange. |
The one club that really nobody considers for much has the exec making this. https://projects.propublica.org/nonprofits/organizations/540902413 |

OP is correct here, feel for the parents that actually are trying to get info out of this thread. Seems like most are just pissed off parents, but as most threads the trolls will clear out and valid information will come to light. |

Can’t ever forget the ECNL cheerleaders. |
