BUT, we are taking a milestone 20th anniversary splurge trip to Hawaii this summer. I was thinking I'd like to buy myself a slightly nicer bathing suit or two to celebrate. On Facebook the Summersault ones are cute - are they any good? I'm willing to spend up to $120 or so per bathing suit.

Where should I look for this? I also looked at Athleta but they didn't have many patterns, which I think I want.

Please be nice to me! I don't normally splurge on myself and this is hard for me.

Why would anyone be mean to you about this? It’s just a request for swimsuit recommendations.

People are mean all the time on DCUM.

More than your budget, but I really like Monday Swimsuits.

Are you new here? DCUM is mean about some of the most innocuous things and the original poster is always at "fault."

Seriously. There’s always someone to say “Google is your friend” or “do you really need to crowdsource this?” or “if you can’t buy a simple bathing suit then you must be…..(insert insult here)”

I've had good luck with Boden (one piece) swimsuits, they have fun colors and patterns (bright colorblock). Also have a couple of Lauren by Ralph Lauren that are great, they are more basic solid colors (black, navy).

Wow thanks PP. I just checked out swimsuits on that site and they are exactly what I need! (not OP).

I tried on a zillion suits last year and the Athleta ones looked best on me, by a mile. The cut was just so much better. I wouldn’t write them off because of lack of patterns.

Look at the suits on QVC, especially Denim & Company.

I like to wait for sales and deals. Sign up for their emails/texts (you can cancel once you've bought what you want) and watch out for new colors and sales. Good luck! I made the leap to more expensive swimwear last summer and I shouldn't have waited this long! I feel so much better at the pool and beach about my middle age, postpartum (but still very fit and attractive) body. It's just nice to be wearing something high quality that shapes a little while also having higher end details that keep it from looking mumsy.

Boden. They are the best.

I don’t understand the love for Albion! I have a few of their suits and I do really like the high rise bottoms but the tops are awful! I’ve tried two types, tried m multiple sizes, and can’t find anything that is supportive and flattering if you’re more than a B or maybe C cup.

I actually like my summersalt suit (the one shoulder one everyone seems to have). I also got a few things from Trina Turk that I really like. And i have robin Piccone and Boden suits I like.

I’m a 34 DD and love the Albion crop top with tie back. Super supportive. I hate their high rise bottoms but I’m only 5’2” so high rise looks ridiculous on me. Tried Summersalt and it was comical how unsupportive it was.

I LOVE my Summersalt swimsuit (I have the one shoulder one), the compression is amazing, it really holds me in, but it only lasts two seasons. By the end of last summer, it was really stretched out. I need to buy a new one for this summer.
