To be fair, VaTech’s medical school is about 15 years old, small and not well ranked so it’s hardly surprising its existence isn’t well known.

Our neighbor majored in neuroscience at VT (they have an incredible department) and is now at Georgetown Medical School.

That is a match rate for graduate medical school students. It has nothing to do with pre-med outcomes for undergraduates (acceptance rate to accredited medical schools).

Sounds like OP’s child intends to get a PhD in medical research, not go to med school. My junior has similar interests (microbiology) and is also looking at these schools for undergrad. Look forward to other people’s perspectives on the schools.
